Allianz Malaysia's profit rises 48%

Allianz Malaysia Berhad's net profit grew nearly 48% year over year to 100 million Malaysian ringgit ($24 million) in the third quarter, The Edge Markets reported. Operating revenue grew 9.5% to more than MYR 1 billion driven by gross earned premiums and investment income. Underwriting profit increased nearly 41% to MYR 107.5 million driven by reinsurance payments and expense management.
