Iran looks to ILS market for reinsurance

Iran is looking to tap into the insurance-linked securities market and allow local insurers to use the capital markets for reinsurance following U.S sanctions against the country, Artemis.bm reports citing sources. Iran may need to adopt its own regulations to support ILS business as local insurers will not be able to access global ILS hubs due to the sanctions. Iranian insurers are struggling to transfer risks to foreign reinsurers following the sanctions, a source said.
