BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. said in a review of the 2015 prospects for the London insurance and reinsurance market that some insurers and reinsurers are "materially reliant on investment returns to make a profit," reported Artemis.bm.

It also said there are expectations that combined ratios would go up.

One in five insurers and reinsurers may already be depending on their investment returns only to make a profit, said PwC, adding that some might become unprofitable very soon.

PwC said underwriting confidence in the London market has fallen.
