Marcell named president of Aon Benfield

Aon Benfield, the reinsurance and capital advisory unit of Aon P.L.C., on Thursday said it has named Andy Marcell as its president, effective immediately.
Previously, Mr. Marcell was head of strategy for Aon Benfield, the company said in a statement.
Prior to joining Aon Benfield in August 2015, he was CEO of Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C.’s U.S. operations and head of its global facultative business.
In addition to increased executive responsibilities, Mr. Marcell will play a wider role in managing its global business and take a more active role with clients and colleagues to support the firm’s ongoing growth strategies, Aon Benfield said in a statement.
Mr. Marcell will be based in New York and report to Eric Andersen, CEO of Aon Benfield.
“Andy has an admirable track record of industry experience and knowledge, and has an impressive skill set to become president of Aon Benfield,” Mr. Andersen said in the statement.
