The Bermuda Monetary Authority has named Shanna Lespere as chief operations officer, effectively immediately.
Ms. Lespere will oversee functions including communications, document management, enterprise risk management, facilities, and finance and currency, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based regulator said Thursday in a statement.
Ms. Lespere was most recently director of operations with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, where she has served since 2004.
“Shanna has been the ultimate team player at the authority, and we are delighted that she’s agreed to take on this important role,” Jeremy Cox, CEO of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, said in the statement. “There’s little she doesn’t know about the work we do, having overseen activities in most areas.”
The Bermuda Monetary Authority registered 89 new insurance entities, including 16 new captive insurers, in 2014.
