Bermuda issues ILS worth $7.7 billion in 2014

Bermuda was the leading domicile for insurance-linked securities issuance last year, The Royal Gazette reports.

The country issued $7.7 billion of ILS during 2014.

The Bermuda Monetary Authority said in a report that Bermuda had 36 ILS issuances in 2014.

"The final quarter of 2014 ended on a strong note for the ILS market," said the report.

"Nine bonds were issued totaling $2.2 billion," the report said.
