NAIC names Jim Donelon president for 2013

Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon on Sunday was elected president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners for 2013.

Mr. Donelon has served as Louisiana’s top insurance regulator since 2006. He succeeds Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty as NAIC president.

In addition, during its fall meeting at National Harbor, Md., the NAIC elected the rest of its slate of 2013 officers. North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm was elected president-elect, Montana State Auditor and Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Monica J. Lindeen was elected vice president, and Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael F. Consedine was elected secretary-treasurer.

The new officers will assume their duties Jan. 1.
