6.4-magnitude earthquake jolts Mexico and Guatemala

The U.S. Geological Survey said that a strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the coast of Chiapas in Mexico on May 12, at a depth of nearly 47 miles, ThePrint reported citing Reuters. The quake could also be felt in Guatemala City, with the country’s disaster agency reporting structural damage in the departments of Quetzaltenango and San Marcos, near the country’s border with Mexico, including a landslide that blocked part of a road.
