BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

paper behind cabinet

A car dealership in Huntington Beach, California, loaned an SUV to a high school athletic trainer, lost the paperwork and then reported the vehicle stolen.

Thus began the story of a man who was pulled over by gun-slinging police on his way to work in 2021 for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle, and who is now suing the dealership, as reported by a CBS News affiliate.

Jamie Rodgers, of Costa Mesa, California, said he had “no idea what was going on” when pulled over, an ordeal that left him scared and confused.

Car Pros Kia of Huntington Beach, named in the suit, had loaned the car to him two months before the incident, according to the media outlet. “This incident was entirely avoidable,” Mr. Rodgers’ attorney told reporters, adding that the dealership has relayed that likely the “paperwork fell behind the cabinet.”
