Engineering insurance premiums nearly double in four years

Data from India’s General Insurance Council showed that engineering insurance premiums in the country have nearly doubled in four years, driven by an increase in infrastructure investments, Business Standard reported. Gross direct premium underwritten in the segment increased to 48.5 billion Indian rupees ($581.5 million) in the 11 months ended March 31, up 84% from the same period of fiscal year 2020.
