The Norwegian Competition Authority said on April 10 that food retailers NorgesGruppen ASA, Coop Norge SA and REMA 1000 AS face a fine of 4.9 billion Norwegian kroner ($456 million) for violating antitrust rules, MSN reported citing Reuters. The regulator reduced the fines as the case was no longer considered an intentional breach. The case focused on how the firms used so-called price hunters to survey rivals' stores and allowed those surveyors access to their own outlets.
