India likely to see continued onslaught of ransomware attacks

Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Lab said on April 3 that India, which detected more than 200 thousand ransomware attacks in 2023, is expected to see similar onslaught this years, The Indian Express reported. The country is consistently among the leading 12 targeted nations and territories for Advanced Persistent Threats. Big ransomware groups like LockBit and Fonix have targeted global and Indian firms in various sectors, including media, retail and manufacturing.
