BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Israel-based tech company, Chaucer partner on shooting product

Modiin, Israel-based Gabriel, a technology company monitoring mass shootings and workplace violence threats, Wednesday said it has partnered with specialty insurer and reinsurer Chaucer Insurance Group PLC and crisis management specialists Merrill Herzog Group to provide an active assailant insurance product designed to prevent and mitigate against mass shootings.

The product is a combined property damage, business interruption and liability cover following an active assailant incident at the insured’s location or a neighboring site. It also covers business interruption following the threat of an active assailant and loss of attraction following an incident, Gabriel said in a statement.

Limit for active assailant cover is $10 million for property damage/business interruption and $5 million for liability, according to an email from a spokesman.

Insureds, including schools, universities, hospitals and places of worship purchasing active assailant cover from Chaucer, will have an incident security dashboard built and installed by Gabri, and Merrill Herzog assists with crisis response when an incident is triggered, according to the statement.
