Starwind MGA Blades, MS Amlin enter underwriting agreement

J. H. Blades & Co. LLC Thursday said it has entered into a master underwriting agreement with insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin to provide capacity for upstream oil and gas liability risks.
MS Amlin and J.H. Blades, a wholesale broker and managing general agent within Starwind Specialty Insurance, the specialty program business of CRC Group Inc., will write general liability and up to $10 million in excess liability using J.H. Blades policy wording written specifically for the sector, J. H. Blades said in a statement.
The new capacity is aimed at U.S. clients in the specialist oil and gas industry with pre-existing and fully operational extraction facilities, onshore and offshore, both in the U.S. and overseas, the statement said.
MS Amlin Head of Natural Resources Jules Samuel noted in the statement that MS Amlin has worked with J.H. Blades previously, “for many years.”
