Toyota suspends production at four plants over engine scandal

Japan-based Toyota Motor Corp. has temporarily suspended operations on six production lines across four vehicle plants in its home country until Feb. 1, following recent revelations about fraudulent engine tests conducted by its affiliate Toyota Industries Corp., Shine reported. The country’s transport ministry on Jan. 30 inspected a Toyota Industries Corp factory, a day after the firm admitted to rigging engine power data resulting in partial suspension of shipments from Toyota Motor.
