BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Keenan notifies clients of data breach possibly affecting 1.5 million

Keenan & Associates, a unit of AssuredPartners Inc., last week began notifying customers that it experienced a data breach last summer where personal information may have been accessed.

In a filing with regulators, the Torrance, California-based brokerage said the breach, which it discovered on Aug. 27, 2023, may have affected more than 1.5 million individuals.

Data accessed may have included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, general health information and health insurance information, according to a breach notification on Keenan’s website.

The broker said that the incident was contained within hours, the FBI was notified and that is not aware of any evidence that affected personal information has been misused.

Keenan said it has notified its affected clients and is in the process of notifying individuals whose data may have been involved, providing them with information and resources to help protect their personal information.
