Howden buys Swiss specialized reinsurance broker

U.K.-based Howden Broking Group Ltd. has acquired Switzerland-based specialized reinsurance broker Haakon AG, Reinsurance News reported. Haakon, which was earlier a part of Swiss insurance holding company Baloise Holding AG, offers facultative, treaty, and complex reinsurance solutions to clients across Europe, Asia, as well as the Middle East. This is Howden’s ninth acquisition in the country within two years.
