The recent surge in demand for GLP-1 drugs for weight-loss and diabetes is notably inflating U.S. employers' health care expenses, according to Mercer., reports Reuters. Projected to cause a 5.2% increase in medical costs next year, these medications, priced at roughly $1,000 per patient monthly, have already led to an 8.4% hike in pharmacy benefit costs in 2023.
