AIG names Lucy Fato vice chairman

American International Group Inc. on Tuesday named Lucy Fato vice chairman of the insurer, effective Oct. 1.
Ms. Fato, who was previously executive vice president, general counsel and global head of communications and government affairs, will report to Peter Zaffino, chairman and CEO of AIG, an AIG statement said.
Ms. Fato joined AIG in 2017. Previously, she was general counsel of S&P Global and deputy general counsel at Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., among other roles.
Rose Marie Glazer, executive vice president, chief human resources and diversity officer, will serve as interim general counsel and head of government affairs and Jennifer Silane, chief of staff, will serve as interim head of global communications in addition to their current roles until permanent successors for Ms. Fato are named, the statement said.
