Aegon gets regulatory nod to sell Dutch operations to rival ASR

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets has granted its approval for insurer ASR Nederland NV’s acquisition of the Dutch operations of its rival Aegon NV in a cash and shares deal worth around €4.9 billion ($5.32 billion), Nasdaq reported citing Reuters. In October 2022, Aegon had said that its smaller competitor would buy its domestic insurance business, in a move that will see ASR replace it as the nation’s second-largest insurer.
