Increases in reinsurance attachments to constrain cat losses: KBW

Analysts at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc. said that increases in the attachment points of reinsurance covers will benefit reinsurers after the first quarter and constrain losses from the catastrophe events that occurred during the period, Artemis reported. The analysts expect the underwriting results of most reinsurers to improve year-on-year on the back of lower ceding commissions, higher rates as well as tighter terms and conditions.
