ICICI Lombard's profit grows 40%

India-based insurer ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co. Ltd.'s profit after tax increased 40% year-on-year to 4.37 billion Indian rupees ($53.25 million) in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, driven by higher premium income, Reuters reported. The insurer’s net premium income increased 12% to INR37.26 billion, whereas income from investments grew 14.5% to INR6.16 billion.
