Gas company officials arrested in $21 billion corruption probe

Venezuelan authorities have arrested 34 officials and financial operators as part of a corruption inquiry into state-owned oil and natural gas company Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., XM reported citing Reuters. The arrests of PDVSA officials are linked to an investigation into heavy losses suffered last year as tankers left the country carrying cargoes that had not been fully paid for. PDVSA has accumulated $21.2 billion in unpaid bills, according to documents.
