CCR Re’s premiums up 17%

French state-owned reinsurer Caisse Centrale de Reassurance SA’s total premium income increased 17% year-on-year to €987 million ($1.07 billion) in 2022 despite a turbulent market, Reinsurance News reported. The reinsurer’s net income grew slightly to €42 million, while its combined ratio stood at 98.7% versus 96.6% in the year-ago period. In 2022, the reinsurer saw costs related to natural disasters decline year-on-year, but they were offset by a rise in man-made claims.
