Swiss Re warns of continued claims severity pressures for P&C insurers

According to analysts at Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., claims severity pressures are likely to continue for property and casualty insurers and reinsurers over the coming year, however, claims growth may ease to some extent as inflation moderates, Reinsurance News reported. The reinsurer added that the decline in claims growth, along with repricing in loss-making areas during recent primary market renewals, may alleviate some of 2022’s underwriting pressure.
