Allianz hires former AIG energy, construction leader

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, the large corporate insurance business of Allianz SE, said Tuesday it had hired Gordon Browne as global head of specialty.
New York-based Mr. Browne was most recently global head of energy and construction and head of North America specialty for American International Group Inc. Previously, he worked in AIG’s London operations.
Mr. Browne, who will join AGCS in April, will lead the insurer’s aviation, energy and construction, entertainment and marine business lines, an Allianz statement said. The businesses represented about 30% of AGCS’s €11.2 billion ($12 billion) in 2022 gross written premium, the statement said.
Last week, Allianz announced it had hired former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. executive Tracy Ryan and that it was restructuring its large commercial and mid-sized commercial businesses.
