French reinsurer Scor SE recorded a net loss of €301 million ($319.6 million) in 2022, mainly due to the Ukraine war, natural catastrophes such as Hurricane Ian and the severe drought in Brazil, Artemis reported. The net loss compares with a net income of €456 million in 2021. However, the reinsurer saw its gross written premium increase by 11.9% year-on-year to €19.7 billion in 2022, supported by growth in the property and casualty business.
