Liberty Mutual names underwriting leaders

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. on Monday promoted Becca Sniderman and Toby Smith to chief underwriting officer roles within its global risk solutions North America unit.
Ms. Sniderman, who joined Liberty Mutual in 2004 and was most recently a vice president, will be chief underwriting officer for casualty at the unit. She will report to Brandon Fick, chief underwriting officer for the unit.
Mr. Smith, who joined Liberty Mutual via its 2017 acquisition of Ironshore and most recently led global risk solutions North America’s casualty and environmental business, will be chief underwriting officer for specialty at the unit. He will report to Mr. Fick and to Matt Dolan, president of the unit.
Liberty Mutual has made several executive appointments at its global risk solutions North America unit over the past several months. Earlier this month it recruited Paul Larson from CNA Financial Corp. as head of financial lines and last month, it named Meg Sutton chief operating officer.
