According to the Association of Agricultural Producers Guild of Peru, the country has lost about $300 million in farm shipments during eight weeks of violent protests, which followed the impeachment of the country's former president, Yahoo Finance reported citing Bloomberg. Several highway blockades have restricted access to ports, affecting asparagus, blueberries and grape producers, amongst other produce. Some operations also shut down plants and suspended harvesting due to insufficient refrigerated storage space.
