Members of Mayor Eric Adams’ administration faced jeers and hours of critical questioning during a New York City Council hearing Jan. 9 on his controversial attempt to make retired municipal workers pay for some forms of health insurance, reports the New York Daily News. The matter before the Council centers on Adams’ plan to enroll the municipal retirees in a Medicare Advantage plan because it could save the city hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
