Indian cough syrup maker investigated over deaths in Uzbekistan

Indian pharmaceutical company Marion Biotech Pvt. Ltd. has halted the production of its Dok 1 Max cough syrup after Uzbekistan linked the deaths of 18 children in the country to the medicine, Business Standard reported citing IANS. Uzbekistan's health ministry said that the children suffering from an acute respiratory disease died after taking excessive doses of the syrup that may contain unacceptable levels of ethylene glycol.
