To keep hospitals from being overwhelmed during this peak season of respiratory illness, Connecticut insurance regulators have negotiated a pre-authorization waiver for short-term hospital stays for around 484,000 insured residents, reports CT News Junkie. The waiver will expedite the discharge of patients who are ready for an alternative level of care.
