A report by Fitch Ratings Inc. said that profitability of South Korean nonlife insurers should increase moderately in the near term, thanks to improved underwriting performance and an increase in premium rates, Asia Insurance Review reported. Nonetheless, inflationary pressure on claims and capital challenges amid interest-rate hikes could dampen the effects on profits.
