Anglo-Australian miner BHP Group Ltd. wants Brazilian miner Vale SA, co-owner of BHP’s Brazilian joint venture Samarco Mineracao SA, to share liability should BHP lose a U.K. class-action lawsuit over the deadly 2015 Fundao dam collapse in Brazil, Mining.com reported. The collapsed dam was operated by Samarco and the incident released large amounts of toxic mine waste, destroyed villages, and killed 19 people.
