Frederick, Maryland, aldermen approved a package of new benefits and perks for city employees, including continued enrollment in its health benefits for families of employees who die, reports the Frederick News Post. Among other changes, the city adopted Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, as a new paid holiday, and the city will reimburse employees who pursue educational opportunities.
