Old Republic names former Axis exec as claims chief

Old Republic International Corp. on Thursday named former Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. insurance claims chief Mike Baumel as chief claim officer for its main insurance unit.
Chicago-based Mr. Baumel, who was also named a senior vice president of the parent company, spent seven years at Axis.
In the newly created role, Mr. Baumel will work with the leaders of the insurance unit’s various specialty companies, an Old Republic statement said.
