BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Convex hires former Axa XL Bermuda reinsurance chief

Insurer and reinsurer Convex Group Ltd. on Thursday named former Axa XL executive Paul Simons as deputy CEO of its reinsurance operations.

Bermuda-based Mr. Simons spent more than 20 years at Axa XL and its predecessor companies, rising to CEO Bermuda reinsurance. He left in September, and Axa XL Re named Mark Twite as CEO Bermuda in October.

Convex, which was established in 2019, also promoted Richard Slater to chief underwriting officer of Convex Re Ltd. Mr. Slater joined Convex in 2019 as product lead of international property treaty.

Mr. Simons and Mr. Slater will report to Matt Paskin, group CUO reinsurance and CEO of Convex Re.
