Court upholds ruling that blocks NYC from penalizing retirees in benefits shift

New York City suffered another setback in its effort to shift retired city workers into a privatized Medicare plan as a Manhattan appellate court upheld a ruling that deemed a key part of the plan unlawful, reports the New York Daily News. Mayor Eric Adams’ administration has sought to enroll the city’s 250,000 retired workers in a Medicare Advantage Plan, which could shave $600 million off the municipal budget each year, according to the report.
