Captive insurers play vital role for climate risks

A report by the Bermuda Monetary Authority has found that captive insurers are beginning to play a vital role in closing the climate risk-related protection gap as they are deploying excess capacity in innovative ways, such as supporting low-carbon technologies, The Royal Gazette reported. The authority has also noted significant growth in the number of organizations using their captives for cyber insurance as part of their overall risk management efforts.
