Liberty Specialty Markets names CUO

The Global Risk Solutions division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. on Monday said Rachel Conran will become chief underwriting officer, Liberty Specialty Markets, effective Jan. 1, 2023.
Ms. Conran will be responsible for underwriting performance across Liberty Specialty Markets, the international commercial, specialty and reinsurance business of Liberty Mutual, the company’s statement said.
She will be based in Cologne, Germany, and report to Matthew Moore, president, GRS office of underwriting, and Phil Hobbs, president and managing director of LSM.
Ms. Conran was named to her new position within the recently created office of underwriting when Mr. Hobbs was promoted to president of LSM from his former role as the unit’s CUO, according to an email from a Liberty Mutual spokesman.
She was most recently CEO and a board member of RSA Luxembourg for Intact Financial Corp.
