QBE North America hires from Swiss Re for CUO

QBE North America on Monday said former Swiss Re Corporate Solutions executive Laura Coppola has been named chief underwriting officer.
She succeeds John Beckman, who left the role in May 2022 to pursue other opportunities, according to an email from a spokeswoman.
Based in New York, Ms. Coppola will serve on North America’s executive management board and be responsible for portfolio optimization and management across QBE North America, a company statement said. She will report directly to CEO Todd Jones, the spokeswoman’s email said.
She was most recently managing director, global head of FINPRO, head of casualty North America, with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, part of Swiss Re Ltd.
Ms. Coppola was one of Business Insurance’s 2018 Women to Watch.
