Malaysia’s general insurance industry posted more than 10% year-on-year growth in aggregate gross direct premium to nearly 10 billion Malaysian ringgit ($2.1 billion) in the first half of the year, Asia Insurance Review reported. Underwriting profit declined by more than 21% to MYR810 million, mainly due to losses in the motor and medical and health insurance lines.
