Gallagher buys another Irish broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Thursday it has acquired Ireland-based Doyle Insurance Brokers (Wexford) Ltd., which does business as Doyle Mahon Insurances.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2009, Doyle Mahon places commercial and agricultural coverage. The brokerage has around 20 employees, according to an email from a Gallagher spokeswoman.

Doyle Mahon will remain in its Wexford, Ireland, location under the direction of Ronan Foley, head of Gallagher’s insurance brokerage operations in Ireland.

The deal follows Gallagher’s purchase of Wexford-based INNOVU Group Holding Co. Ltd. in June.

Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is the fourth-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
