Several lawmakers are pressing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to expand Medicare’s coverage of substance abuse disorder to address gaps exacerbating the addiction crisis, Fierce Healthcare reports. Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Illinois, and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, wrote a letter to CMS officials calling for it to use new funding and existing authority to expand Medicare coverage.
