Analysts at U.S-based Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC said that this year’s third quarter insured losses caused by Hurricane Ian would significantly affect reinsurers’ capital, Reinsurance News reported. Reinsurers’ catastrophe budgets are now highly exposed to losses related to medium-to-large sized natural disasters, including Typhoon Namadol and French hailstorms, and Hurricane Ian that occurred in the third quarter.
