Premiums up by 37% in Romania in first half of the year

According to Romania’s Financial Supervisory Authority, local insurers’ aggregate gross written premium increased 37% year-on-year to almost 8.8 billion Romanian lei ($1.7 billion) in the first half of the year, SeeNews reported. The general insurance segment drove the growth with premiums increasing 44% to around RON7.3 billion.
