AGCS names former AIG exec as regional distribution head

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty said Thursday that John Gambale has been named regional head of distribution, North America, large corporate.
Mr. Gambale joins AGCS from American International Group Inc., where he spent 23 years, most recently as president of the insurer’s northeast zone.
His appointment, effective Oct. 3, is part of a reorganization of AGCS’s distribution team in North America as it launches large corporate and middle-market divisions. He will be based in New York and report to Bill Scaldaferri, CEO and president of AGCS North America.
Rani Christie, formerly regional head of distribution, sales and marketing for North America, will lead the middle-market division. He is based in Atlanta and reports to Mr. Scaldaferri.
