A report by U.S.-based business advisory firm FTI Consulting Inc. said the number of mergers and acquisitions in the European insurance sector increased 26% year-on-year to 110 in the second quarter of the year, Reinsurance News reported. M&As increased despite rising interest rates and inflationary pressure in the region, with the U.K. and Ireland accounting for almost 50% of all the deals.
