Gallagher acquires UK broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Tuesday it has acquired Erimus Group Ltd. of Teesside, England.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Erimus serves a mainly regional commercial client base in the northeast of England, offering commercial combined, business interruption, commercial property, cyber, directors and officers, and employers liability insurance.
Headed by commercial director and CEO Paul Davison, Erimus will become part of Gallagher's U.K. retail division. Mr. Davison will report to Elliot Miller, regional managing director of Scotland, Northern Ireland and North East of England.
Erimus has just under 40 employees, according to an email from a Gallagher spokeswoman.
Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based Gallagher is the fourth-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
