Mapfre joins Net-Zero Insurance Alliance

Spanish insurer Mapfre SA has joined the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance and has pledged to attain net-zero emissions across its insurance and reinsurance underwriting portfolios by 2050 as part of its climate commitments, ESG Today reported. The alliance was launched by a group of world’s leading insurers and reinsurers in July 2021 to encourage underwriters to establish science-based targets and establish necessary underwriting criteria to help reduce carbon emissions.
